Hi Everyone - I am having trouble connecting my Mac audio output to the google nest audio speaker.
The nest help site says the following, but the speaker doesn't appear in my Mac Mini's list of available targets;
Mac OS
The option for the speaker just doesn't appear on my bluetooth list from the Mac of available options.
I cant bear the tinny sound of the audio coming from the Mac Mini's speaker, it's so much nicer coming through the Google Speaker. I can play Spotify with no problems - I just can't get audio from the Mac.
Any help appreciated!

I didn't know this was supposed to be an option. But when I try it on our iMac, the Nest Hub right next to our iMac also does not appear, using these instructions:

Hi @TattyF Did you use the Google Home app to activate the pairing mode? Otherwise your Mac won't be able to identify your speaker.... Please find your device in the app, open your device and click on the cog logo in the upper right corner. From there click on connected Bluetooth devices, and from there you can pair!
Hope this helps 🙂

Hi Mr_Borssie,
Thanks for taking the time to reply but unfortunately, I did activate the pairing from the app and still no go. 😕
I have been reading around on this and I saw somewhere that the Mac Mini (which is what I'm on) won't work with the Google speakers. No idea why. But am starting to think that this might be the cause...given that MplseCustomer (above your reply) is also NOT seeing their speakers on their Mac.

☹️That would be a bummer....
I do not own a Mac so I don't know... really hope there's something else you can try. Maybe someone knows a solution?

For the Nest Hub, if you go into Settings | Audio | Paired Bluetooth devices and select "Enable Pairing Mode", it says "Ready to pair. Connect to xxx with Bluetooth" but the device still does not appear as a selectable Bluetooth device on the Bluetooth menu in the Mac OS Monterey operating system (as stated in Google Nest Help's documentation here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7381505?hl=en#zippy=%2Cfrom-your-computers-bluetooth-se...).

Thanks, but I don't face any issues with that 😉 this is for you @TattyF ⬆️

I tried this. It works. Play just say “hey Google open Pairing mode” and then it appeared as a choice in my Mac’s Bluetooth settings ….and then I chose it as the speaker. https://www.cnet.com/home/smart-home/google-nest-feature-i-use-almost-daily-turn-it-into-a-bluetooth...

That was too easy and thanks for the tip... almost Mac-like in it's ease!
