Until a few days ago my Nest Audio did not give a spoken confirmation when responding to simple commands. Now whenever I say "stop" with one particular activity (playing audio) it verbally confirms that it is stopping the activity. How can I turn this off? It turns smart plugs off and on with no verbal confirmation.

Until a few days ago I got no confirmation response when I asked for something to be stopped. I still get no confirmation when I ask for a smart outlet to be turned off. What has changed since last week?

Please read my response again. In it I was describing the problem. Until about a week ago I never got verbal confirmations for simple commands like "stop" or "turn off." For some reason I started getting a verbal confirmation when I asked for a routine that plays a local radio station to stop. Oddly, when I ask a smart plug to turn off I get no confirmation. Obviously something has changed on the Google side. I've made no changes to the routine that plays the radio station. I'd appreciate a fix.

Yes, I agree I have found this as well. It is somewhat annoying. In fact issueing the stop command against any type of music such as Spotify now ellicits this response whereas previously it would simply stop the music. Even if you put the stop command into a routine you still get a response, whereas proeviously adding commands to routines was normally a way of muting verbal responses to commands. Obviously something has recently changed.

Same here when controlling chromecast via Google nest. Simple commands like pause, and stop used to work fine.
Previously "hey google, pause" would lower the volume quickly pause the media that was playing on the device in the same room, without providing verbal response. Which is the expected behaviour.
Now it is additionally responding with "ok, pausing *device name*". Which is the problematic behaviour.
I have confirmed that the home app is showing the devices in the same room still, as I know it will verbally respond if you ask it do something in another room.
So something has definitely changed on google's end. Constant small changes and issues like this make setting up home assistant seem more appealing every day.
