Finding nest hub Nest Hub MAC address *before* setup?

BFarmer1980

I have recently had to move into a hotel (thanks, COVID) and need the MAC address for my Google Nest Hub in order to connect it to the facility's Wi-Fi.  Instructions given in previous threads are no longer current, and while I found a menu option to "Show MAC Address" in the Google Home app during network setup, the option was grayed out.

Can we please get some up-to-date instructions on how to accomplish this? Thanks in advance!

Hey BFarmer1980,

Thanks for reaching out, and apologize for the late response.

Sorry to hear about your situation, and I'm hoping for your fast recovery. Our team is aware of this and looking into this issue at hand. I’ll make sure to get back to you as soon as an update becomes available. Meanwhile, set up a mobile hotspot from an Android phone, then check the mac address from the mobile hotspot settings (connected devices).

Please note that we do not recommend connecting your Google Nest Hub to a hotel network because some hotels are using a captive portal network where you need to log in on a website, and the speaker is not compatible with that kind of network. Also, it may put your account at risk because it's a public network.

Let us know if you need further help.

Cheers,

Muddi
