Google Home Linked to My Chevrolet App

wayne40404

When I try to link/authorize the my Chevrolet app, it throws an invalid input error. This is directly from api.gm.com when I enter my email and password and click authorize. Google passes me off to GM/Onstar and they pass me right back to Google. I know it's not my credentials, as when I enter the wrong password on purpose, it tells me that the password is incorrect (instead of the invalid input error). Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks I'm aware of this process, unfortunately this is where I get the error. It says invalid input after I enter my username and password every time. I've even tried clearing my cache and cookies and resetting my password, still no luck.

Hey wayne40404,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I appreciate @RachelGomez123, for helping.

I know how challenging it is when you're having issues linking your Chevrolet account to the Google Home app. A few questions: what is the make and model of your phone/tablet? Do you have the same issue when linking to another third-party app? Have you tried using a different phone/tablet?

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi

Sorry for the delay. I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 and do not have the same issue when linking other 3rd party accounts/applications. I'm unable to use another device since this cannot be done from a computer and I only have one cell phone. Any other suggestions?

I managed to use an old device, and got the same result.

Hi wayne40404,

Have you tried calling Chevrolet support to check if they are getting similar reports as this looks like an issue on their log in page when connecting to Google Home.

Muddi

I have but unfortunately they directed me to Google since they claim it's an issue on your side. Is there a way to look into error logs at the time of this occurrence? There is definitely a communication issue between Google and Chevrolet, but not sure how we determine what the true issue is.

Hey wayne40404,

I understand. Please note that Google doesn't have a way to access or check our partners URL. Only the manufacturers are the ones maintaining their system to connect to the Google Home app. I'll still forward this to the team, and will get back to you for update.

having the same issue with a google pixel 5.. will check back for any updates on this issue.

I've given up. I do believe this is a Chevy problem, but they say it's Google and Google says it's Chevy. Very frustrating, but I don't expect this to be fixed. I'm monitoring the thread just in case.

Im getting the same error but when I log in through my mother in laws account to add her, it works perfectly fine..its ridiculous.  I've tried changing my password that didn't work. I'm going clear the cache and forcestop both Google Assistant and mychevy app and see if that fixes it or not. Ugh.

No luck, still same erro. Smh.

Hey folks,

How was your devices? Are you still having issues linking Chevrolet accounts to the Google Home app? Does anyone hear feedback from Chevrolet support?

Hi wayne40404,

Thanks for the update. This is an issue with their integration on Google Home/Nest devices, and should be addressed by the developer itself since they are the only one who have control on what to share with the third-party devices. All feedback has been noted and forwarded to the right team.

Cheers,

Muddi

this still seems broken, and I suspect google isn't passing the correct parameters to the GM API for GM to know an account connection is supposed to happen.

I am having the exact same problem. I have used my S22 Ultra as well and the wife's S21 Ultra and my S8 tablet as well with the same message after entering my username and password.

Nothing has been resolved. The issue still persists for all on this thread. Unfortunately, I cancelled my subscription with Chevrolet since it was doing me no good. I'm sure the others would appreciate a little more attention to this issue.
