Since my daughter was born in 2018 we used the Google Home Mini as a sound machine on Max volume to drown out any other noises in the house like older brothers.
Today we noticed when we said “ok google play white noise” it was lower than usual. I figured the volume was down…but nope it’s on max.
Dont know what happened? I have another Google Mini so I pulled it out and same thing. My wife and I had a hard time talking over the speaker sometimes and now I can hear my daughter moving in my crib. Was there an update? Did something change?
I considered buying a new one but seeing both are doing the same thing…
Any info helps! Thank you!

So frustrating. This is happening to all my nest speakers as well. I am having to cast a sound machine noise from my Spotify to her speaker so it's loud enough to drown out the noise. This started for us today. Looks like there are a lot of people having the same issue

Came here to report exact same issue. Been using Google nest mini as a sound machine since 2019 to play white noise.
Since yesterday the audio sound has changed.
I thought the volume was on low too, but was already of max setting
