Google Home Mini activity not appearing in Home Activity?

Hi all -- 

I've had a Google Home Mini for many years, and it used to log its activity in the "Activity" tab in the Google Home app on my Android device(s), and also in the activity listing in "myactivity.google.com", but some time recently, this has stopped happening. My Android Google Home activity is entirely empty, and the browser-based one has lots of my other activity (Google searches, etc.), but nothing from the Home Mini device.

I have verified that the device is present and connected to my account -- I can reboot it and change the volume from the Android Home app, which I think proves it's linked correctly? 

Where can I query its activity? Can I get it to record activity where it used to?

I selected the "Getting Started" issue type, but only because that seemed like the closest match -- none of the drop-down categories really seem to apply, apologies if it's misleading.

To make sure the Home Activity settings are accurate, could you kindly verify these settings on the Google Home app?

Check Google Assistant activity history.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Settings > Privacy > Home Activity.

Check details about an activity.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Settings > Privacy > Home Activity.
  3. Under an activity in history, tap Details.

Thanks for your reply. I did that, and there are a few entries from several weeks ago, marked as being from the "Assistant". It does not include events from the past few days, when I and others in my household have used the Google Home Mini to ask about the current temperature and so forth.

Is the "Assistant" and the app of the Google Home Mini the same thing? I think of the "Assistant" as being the thing on my phone, and the Home Mini voice query service as its own thing, but the distinction is not clear in my mind, and I am happy to be corrected about this.

Thanks for sticking with it.

The first link shows that "Web & App Activity" is on, but there's a wrinkle, scrolling down a bit, there's a checkbox for "Include voice and audio activity" that is unchecked. I went to check it, but it started asking about recording audio -- I don't want audio recordings, I just want a record of the queries (in text from) that the device has received and answered. Do I need to turn on voice and audio to get that?

The second link, which goes to "Save installed app info from your signed-in devices", is also turned on.
