Google Home Mini doesn't understand the same commands as Google Nest Mini

I have two Google Home speakers: one Google Home Mini and one Google Nest Mini. The Google Home Mini has recently started saying "I don't understand" for commands that it used to understand, but the Google Nest Mini understand these same commands.

 

I have factory reset the Google Home Mini device and reinstalled it on the Google Home app and it doesn't seem to have made any difference. 

Specifically an example of a command that Google Home Mini doesn't understand is "talk to Gospel Voice".

 

Is this some sort of planned obsolescence?

Hi,

I also have found that my Google Home Mini has stopped responding to alomst everything in the last week or so. This is despite doing a factory reset.

However i found a workaround on another site that may work for you, and that is to disable Personal results in the Google Home settings. This does not solve the problem but at least helps for now. Another solution mentioned is to change the Google Assistant language to English (or to a different type of English)

Actually, forget what I said - it seems to be hit and miss, it was working after changing those settings, but then stopped for a while, and tonight its working again...

Thanks for the suggestions! I played around with both of those things and it made no difference. If you get any other ideas, I'm very interested to hear them.

Thanks for bringing this up.

 

Let's just make sure that the Google Home Mini is within a good range from your router preferably within 10-15 feet away. Also, it would be a big help if you will reboot your router simply by unplugging it from the power source for a few minute to refresh its network settings and to avoid the congestion on your network.

 

Please keep us posted if you notice any changes on its behavior.
