Google Home Mini no longer connects to Wifi

Nothing has changed it terms of my router/modem, password or location. The other day I asked Google for something and it said it can't reach the internet.... I tried restarting it, no change. I tried a factory reset nothing... When I go to do a new setup now, it won't even connect to the WiFi and I can't connect directly to the device either from my phone.

I'm using a Pixel 7 Pro. No other device in my house is having issues with the WiFi.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing that with your Google Home Mini. A few things I'd like to ask-- when did the issue start to happen? Is it the only Google Nest speaker that is set up on your home network?

 

Since you've already tried some steps, could you please provide your device's cast firmware version?

 

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX".

Hi everyone,

 

Apologies for the late response. Let’s get this sorted out. Are you getting the prompt “You’re about to complete the reset” whenever you try to do the factory reset? Do you have another phone that we can use just for the initial setup? Try doing the set-up using the other phone. Let me know how it goes.

Hiya, so after giving up and buying the Google Nest Home Hub and that connecting perfectly I left the Home Mini unplugged on my shelf.

While I was troubleshooting, I left it unplugged for hours and also confirmed factory reset multiple times it still didn't work. However! It seems leaving it unplugged for ~one month fixed the issue? I plugged it in for the first time since late Nov and it booted and connected to the internet just fine. I'll keep it plugged in to see if it has a change of heart
