This only started after more than a year of ownership. If you as much as touch it, say to turn up the volume, or to move the cord out of the way, the unit powers off. You'd have to wait several minutes before you can try again. Only for the problem to repeat itself. I have rebooted multiple times and tried the factory reset twice.

If its turning off like that I suspect the power cable has got a fray or loose connection. You can confirm this by using a different AC adapter (ask around for a friend or family member that has the same unit that would lend you the power cable)

Thanks for the suggestion. I examined the charger closely. I detected no frays. That doesn't mean it couldn't still be the charger. I will buy a new charger and see.

It may be the charging port on the unit itself as well, not to confuse the issue but that is a possibility.

Hey Lawal,
Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I appreciate @Ashepherdson for helping.
Sorry to hear about your Google Nest Hub. Could you tell us which Nest Hub you have (1st or 2nd gen)? Is your display plugged directly into a wall outlet or surge protector? Have you tried a different outlet? Are you still using the original power cable that comes with the device? Was there any type of electrical outage around the time the issue began? When and where did you purchase your device?
Looking forward to your response.
Cheers,
Muddi
