Google Nest Bluetooth Speaker

I think this matter comes from a long, long time and still there is no solution. When I try to play music either from my iPhone or MacBook Air, they connect correctly but there is no sound at all. I remove devices then I add them again but sometimes work and sometimes doesn’t. With an android device there is no problem at all. When are you guys going to take this problem seriously?

Hi OHernandez,

Thanks for posting in the community! I understand when you try to play music from your iPhone or MacBook Air to your Google Nest speaker, there's no sound, despite a successful connection. I appreciate you for trying some troubleshooting steps to get them working. Help is here!

To find the best solution, I have some questions for you:

  • What's your Google Nest speaker model? Please check out the following link for your reference: Google Nest and Home device specifications
  • Are there any error messages?
  • Does your Google Nest speaker show up in the list of available Bluetooth devices?
  • Is your Google Home app updated? Visit our helpful article to update it: Update the Google Home app

Please keep me updated. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Juan

Hi OHernandez,

Thanks for keeping me updated! Let's try some troubleshooting steps to continue addressing this inconvenience:

1. Check the volume of your Google Home.

  • Say "Hey Google, turn it up" to adjust the volume.

2. Unpair your iPhone from your Google Home.

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap "Devices."
  • Select your Google Home to unpair.
  • At the top right, tap "Settings."
  • Select "Audio" then "Paired Bluetooth devices."
  • Tap the "X" icon next to your Google Home to unpair.

3. Reconnect your iPhone to your Google Home.

  • Turn on your iPhone's Bluetooth and make sure it’s in pairing mode.
  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Select your Google Home.
  • At the top right, tap "Settings."
  • Choose "Audio" then "Default music speaker."
  • Tap "Pair Bluetooth speaker."
  • Select your iPhone once it appears on the screen.
  • Hit "Done."

Please let me know how it goes.

Sincerely,
Juan
