Google Nest Cannot Tell Me the Weather!

When asking for the weather or forecast it say "Sorry, I didn't understand." If I ask what the forecast is and include my town, then it works. I will tell me the time. It gives me the correct home address. If I ask "What's the temperature?" it gives me a Wiki result. I've seen that this was an issue in 2020-2021 but no solutions given. Some people said it just started working again. Some said to unplug it, wait a minute then plug it back in, then it worked correctly after about a minute. I tried all that with no success. This started within the last couple days and is still happening.

I understand how confusing it can be if your speaker suddenly is not giving you accurate weather information as it did before. Don’t worry though; I’m here to help you with that.

Your speaker will give you weather information depending on where the device is located. Since it provides you with weather information only when mentioning a town, I think it would be a great idea to check the address settings in the Google Home app.

You can change the home address of your devices by:

• Tapping "Settings" > "Home information" > "Home address."
• Tap "Edit" > Make sure the address displayed is the correct one > "Next."
• You may be asked to drag a pin on a map to pinpoint your specific location; after that, tap done.

Then you can perform another restart as you did before by unplugging the power cord from your speaker and then leaving it unplugged for a minute.

Make sure that the weather units in the Google Home app are set up so it can give you the most accurate response.
