Google Nest Hub (1st gen) stuck in permanent boot loop

Hi,

I'm an experienced computer user and am quite familiar with Smart Home devices.

My Nest Hub device seems to be stuck in a permanent boot-loop when it got its last SW update earlier this year. I've heard that I may be able to get the device sent in and fixed by posting on this forum, so I'd like to see if I can get help here.

Things I've tried:

  • Power off the device for >30min (I gave this multiple tries across multiple days)
  • Do a hard reset (press and hold both volume buttons together for about 10 seconds)

The device is just stuck in a permanent boot screen / boot loop.
