Google Nest Hub - Black screen issue

Bought this Google Nest hub (1ste Gen) back in 2019. Untill yesterday we'd no issues with the device at all.

Yesterday morning, i woke up and the google nest device was perfectly fine like every other day. went to work and came back around lunchtime. At that moment i thought the google nest hub was turned off for some reason, but it wasn't.

I tried a lot of things:

- plugged power cord dozens of time off the wall

- tried multiple power sources

- hard resetting

to be clear: the display showed a black screen, at both ends (Left and right) vertical lines where observed, where i could see my background. While starting up, its more like a grey-ish background and will turn to black slowly.

also, before the hard reset, google assistant was still working, i could stream my music still. but  it's not possible anymore after the hard reset.

I saw on the forum that this is a typical Google/Nest problem. Mostly it will happen after an update. i assume my google nest had an update that morning.

From what i've read online, there's no fix except for buying a new one. Can somebody confirm that? (i hope nobody can).

otherwise this is realy *** up by google. Destroying their own products with a update & expect that customers will buy a new one.  How can google even claim they're for climate change, sustainability and other BS if they do stuff like this and not act on it. (there're people having this issue 2/3 years ago and still waiting for a wonder or something).

Google, please do something about it.
