I’ve racked my brain and can’t figure out a fix for this issue - I appreciate any help at all. I have Sleep Sounds as part of a bedtime routine on my 1st gen Nest Hub and have them set to play all night. Everything worked perfectly for over a year and then several months ago the Hub started restarting itself 3-4 nights a week. I’ve researched the issue and some people say it’s for updates. Seems odd that there would be updates several times a week, but even if it is, the restarting isn’t the issue I have a problem with. The problem is that on the nights it resets, my sleep sounds don’t continue after it restarts and I wake up around 4-5 am realizing they’re not on. I tried to set a second routine for around 4am to play sleep sounds thinking that if they stopped playing due to a restart, the second routine would kick them back on. But for whatever reason, the second routine will not restart them. Does anyone have any clue on any other workarounds? The background noise helps me sleep so much better and I hate waking up because they’re not running.

Hey 78912,
Thanks for the added information. Could you try disabling the Weather Frog then check if your device will have the same behavior.
Keep us posted.
Cheers,

Muddi, I'm not sure you understand, I'm only very very rarely having the restart issue, and in fact I haven't had it since back before June 2022 I believe. I only mentioned the last thing because i found it strange that it also occured around the 3AM time frame. With respect to the weather frog, I'm not trying anymore suggestions - in fact i have the screen set to turn off after 5min of inactivity so the weather frog isn't playing any roll in these issues. My post from 08/16/2022 listed all my settings. Finally Muddi, I know you are only trying to help, and it is appreciated, however this whole thread is now getting ridiculous. There is clearly some underlying issue, either hardware or software based. If it's hardware then everyone here is screwed as most peoples units are past warranty. If its software we are all at the mercy of Google software developers, so again we're no further ahead. As for me my unit seems not to be having this issue anymore so i'll leave well enough alone. For everyone else try the setting the screen time out to 5min, maybe that might prevent the restarts, clearly we are on our own.

This has been ongoing for many months now. I think it's safe to assume that Google have no interest in resolving this issue, or for that matter, even recognising it.

Been a year now. My nest is a useless POS, unplugged now. I will NEVER purchase a Google product again. They don't give a crap with broken software. Shame.

@Muddi I don't understand your questions
There are enough people that complaining on the same issue EVERY SINGLE DAY
It can't be everyone under experiment or something
Clearly something with software or technical going on. Why not checking the logs from your side?
You are asking very specific questions which sounds like you want to do a point fix.

Hi Muddi
I have retired all my google Hubs and gone to Amazon Alexa i will never buy a Google Product again and i will never recommend a Google Product to any one i will just tell how bad Google service and Hubs are and not to purchase.

@Muddi I agree with @wombat268 It's not that the products aren't very good. It's the complete lack of recognition and support from Google that there is even a problem. I've had significant issues with voice match for instance that have never been resolved outside of have you tried resetting it. 🤔
So I too am moving away to Alexa. Google really are not doing themselves any favours and at least Amazon support seems much better!
