Google Nest Hub gen. 2 Problems

Hi ! I'm having a big problem with my Nest Hub gen. 2:

  • Last month I noticed that sometimes when I tell something to the hub it doesn't do what I just told even if I YELL and my at 2 m from it .... it kept just the listening bar and it showed how loud I speak not what I speak.
  • Last week when I waked up in the middle of the night it was in the middle of rebooting.
  • And If I say to play something that is not in English it will not recognise anything or it will be going to be gibberish.  ex: ''Dernière danse'' by Indila it recognise Danielle Dance (and it's NOT my pronunciation , I speak French)
  • If I set an automation that has to do with my phone (like to tell me the battery level) it says that it can't do that even though it says on the google home app that it can to this. Maybe because I use IOS?!
  • It does not have many languages like Romanian where not many people speak English or other supported language , especially older people that can't walk or accessibility issues , and other similar devices do not exist .

Please respond if you know how to fix some of this

@tud3pa

I can answer one of your concerns. Google Nest does an automated reboot of our Nest Hubs around 3 or 4 am in the morning, in order to push out updates (and maybe other reasons). I don't know if it occurs EVERY night.

Google Assistant had trouble with a search for "Dernière danse" when I tried it (in English), but if I specified "Dernière danse by Indila", it recognized "dance" and then gave me search results that included "Dernière danse".

Hi everyone,

We appreciate your help, MpIsCustomer!

tud3pa, let’s troubleshoot your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen to isolate the issue with the voice commands.

  • Unplug the power adapter for 2 minutes > Plug it back in. If the issue persists;
  • Factory reset your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen and then set it up.
  • Finish the setup and then retrain your Voice Match. From the Google Home app, go to Settings > Google Assistant > Voice Match > Teach your Assistant your voice again.

Also, the automation you’re trying to set up is only available on Android devices. We also understand how important it is to talk to Google Assistant using our native language. Though Romanian is yet to be supported, our team is looking for ways to improve, and we’ll take this as feedback.

Regards,
Alex
