Hello,
In the last day or so my Google Nest Mini (first gens) have stopped accessing the internet. I have a Lenovo Google Clock and a Google Home Hub which boh are connected and working fine, but my 3 Nest Minis all stopped connecting to the internet at the same time.
I have tried rebooting them, restarting them, restarting and rebooting the internet and doing a factory reset. I have removed the devices and tried to set them up again but they still will not connect to the internet.
Have the devices stopped being supported in some way in the UK?

Same here with all my 2nd generation minis (5 of them!). Hub and 3rd party speaker are both fine.

exactly the same issue for me. Google Hub and 'Works with Google' speakers all fine. It's just the nest mini's and one larger nest speaker that will not connect. Tried everything.
Never had this problem, and nothing has changed, same router and password, same speaker locations. all other wifi enabled devices in the house working perfectly. Seems very odd it's all our Nest speakers at the same time with the issue. Again, we are in the UK.
Saturday
All 3 of our 2nd Gen did the same yesterday - none of them are working. So frustrating! We have spent so much time factory resetting and trying to connect. All other devices are connecting to the wifi fine for some reason none of the 3 nests will! HELP!!
Saturday
There's clearly a device issue. Ours are 2nd gen too.
Sunday
Interesting that the OP mentions a Lenovo clock is working. We have two Lenovo Smart Clock Essentials with Google Assistant built in and these both went offline on Friday night. Even after a factory reset they're both refusing to connect to internet (I've tried a couple of different wifi networks as well) when setting them up through the Google Home app. We also have 1st and 2nd gen minis in the house and ironically these are fine.

Same problem here. - Can you say which router you are all using - Mine is Eero provided by TalkTalk
Sunday
Hmm, Eero by Talk talk ......
Sunday
Same here, eero from Talk Talk
Sunday
Eero Talktalk. Google nest mini speaker gen 1 is fine but gen 2 speaker kicked out following overnight update on Thursday/Friday
Sunday
Well I never !!!!!
What a coincidence !!!!!
I will persue this with Eero and Talktalk support - With your permission I will mention this thread.
Sunday
I too am in contact with Eero and Talk talk. I have mentioned that other people are having the same issue but not mentioned the threads.
I have no issues with you mentioning this thread, or another I started on Reddit to see if others have the same issue (spoiler alert: they do)
Sunday
I have also contacted eero, and mentioned about people having the same problem.
I will keep this thread updated if I get one, can others do the same please.
Cheers
Sunday
I contacted Google who have said it sounds like an Eero/ Talk talk issue. So I'm now trying to contact them for some solution
Sunday - last edited Sunday
Bit late to the party but I also have Eero and Talktalk
Sunday
Just to add, I've tried connecting to a hotspot on my work phone and everything worked perfectly. Eero and/or Talktalk is definitely the issue.
Sunday
Got it! At the bottom of the Home screen in the app, go to 'Security and Privacy' and disable 'Advanced Security'.
Sunday
Thanks so much for posting.
I can see security and privacy and advanced security but I can't see where to disable it? Could you point me in the right direction
Many thanks
Sunday
Click in the Privacy & Security box - Network controls -Advanced security - Disable with slider
Tuesday
Thank you! It worked.

Hi All
Just been on phone with Eero support for 2 hrs. Tried just about everything but got nowhere. Early days we tried disabling Advanced security but for some reason it made no difference. Having read the suggestion from Thanos23, I tried again and hey presto - it worked ______ WELL DONE thanos23.
I will let Eero know the situation
Best Regards
Sunday
2 hours, you lucky thing!!!!
Spent nearly 4 hours with eero support (which I don't recommend) done a Hard reset on the eero and set everything up again. All works now
Tuesday
Thanos23; this solution worked for me. Question though - do I toggle advanced security back on?
Tuesday
Sadly no, that'll break it again. I wasn't going to give it a couple of weeks before I try it again for Talktalk to hopefully acknowledge they have a problem and fix it...
Sunday
Update: I talked with Talk talk and after doing everything under the sun, the suggested a hard reset on the eero router. There's a button on the bottom of the router, press that for 30 sec.
You have to set up the network again but I just used the same name and password and it was fine. The speakers now work but I'm not saying it's solved until they work tomorrow
Monday
Update - Eero support (escalated) has suggested I change DMS from default to custom 8.8.8.8 primary and 8.8.4.4 secondary. and re-enable Advanced Security.
I have implemented this and things are working, but for how long ??
I will update further as necessary
Monday
Update - Rebooted router and now not working with Advanced security enabled and new DNS
- Disabled Advanced security and its working again
Tuesday
Have you had any progress with this? Currently having the same issue but nothing has seemed to have resolved it for me yet.
Tuesday
I solved this by doing a hard reset on the router itself, there's a button on the bottom/back of it.
I had to set up the network again, but I just used the same name and password and everything connected automatically
Tuesday
I also performed a reset soft on the router (Press button on bottom until ithe light turns orange and let go before it turns red). This way you wont have to setup the network again.
Other thing to try is to disable Advanced Security - You must aso reboot the Nest mini afterwards to test if it starts to work.
Let me know how you get on
Tuesday
No such luck for me so far. Waiting for talk talk to actually answer me but seems their chat is busy. Quite annoying this if i'm honest.
My eero app shows the nest as connected but the nest it's self is just not complying either.
Tuesday
I haven't updated my DNS though as not entirely sure how.
Tuesday
Goto settings - Network settings - DNS - custom
Primary DNS 8.8.8.8
Secondary. 8.8.4.4
Tuesday
Dont foget to reboot mini after this change
Tuesday
Worked a charm
Wednesday
Hi,
Since Friday I’ve been having the same issue — one Nest Mini and two Lenovo Smart Clocks won’t connect to my Eero router/extender. I’ve tried disabling advanced security, soft resetting both the Eero and the extender, power cycling everything, and even factory resetting the affected devices. Meanwhile, my two other Nest Minis connect without any problems.
Eero support hasn’t been much help so far — they keep suggesting I move my TV closer to the router (?!).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Wednesday
Have you tries changeing the DNS address
Wednesday
Mine is currently set to 79.79.79.79 and 79.79.79.80. Is changing this likely to disconnect any other devices that do work?
Wednesday
It shouldnt affect other devices. This suggestion seems to work for me and other people. See earlier posts. It was suggested by Eero support (escalated). If any devices are affected a reboot should help. Also dont forget to reboot the non working devices after implementing.
Changing DNS will force a reboot of the router.
Thursday
Thanks for your comment - i have tried changing my DNS and rebooted as suggested, but the devices still wont connect
