Google Nest not playing radio stations

I’m in Ireland. A few days ago, my Google Nest stopped playing all the Irish radio stations I listen to. I ask it to play a station, get connected to TuneIn, which then tells me, “this station is not available in your country”. I can still listen to these stations, via TuneIn, on my phone. Has anyone any  idea what’s going on?

I'm having a similar issue in Houston, TX.  I can't get my Nest Hub Max to stream any music other than from YouTube Music.  I tell it to play a station from SomaFM.com, then it asks me if I should still play it on the Nest Hub Max (which it never asked me before), then says it's streaming the station I requested...but nothing plays.  I've unplugged it twice to reboot it, but no change.

Thank you for posting in the community, I understand that when you try to play a station from SomaFM.com, It asks you to confirm playback on the Nest Hub Max. Even though it says it's streaming the station, no audio actually plays.

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

• Does this happen with different radio stations?
• When did the inconvenience start?
• Are you using one of these radio apps as TuneIn Premium, iHeartRadio or Audacy (formally known as Radio.com)?
• May i know which command are you using to play the radio?

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you're unable to play Irish radio stations on your Google Nest device because it says “this station is not available in your country”. I'm happy to help you! 

At the moment, i need to ask a few questions to give the correct troubleshooting:

• Which Google Nest speaker do you have?
  • Please take a look at this article: Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays - Google Nest Help
• Have you already confirmed if your account is under the correct country? 
• When did the inconvenience start? 
• What troubleshooting have you done so far? 
• Does this happen with different radio station?

Hi Rusell. 

We have a standard Google Nest with a built in speaker, just the basic model.

Problem started about two weeks ago, completely out the blue.

We did a hard reset and confirmed that we are based in Ireland.

When we use the “Hey Google” command to play various Irish radio stations, we are informed by TuneIn, “this station is not  available in your country”

We can continue to listen to these stations via our smartphones, where TuneIn continues to broadcast the same stations which elsewhere it tells us are not available.

I have successfully instructed Google Nest to play UK radio stations

Thank you for the update. I appreciate the information provided, but we still need to move forward with regards to your concern, therefore may I know the exact Google speaker you have?.

In the meantime, please follow these few troubleshooting below:

• Remove the app and then install it back
• Allow all the permissions

Hi there,

Thank you for the update. For now, we need to still move forward therefore i'd like to share additional steps. 

• unlink and link again the radio service to your account by following the steps below:
  • Tap Settings .
  • Under Services, tap Radio.
  • Choose a radio service, then tap Ok.
  • To link an account, sign in or sign up for the radio service. Follow the in-app steps.
  • To unlink an account, tap Unlink account.

To link the radio service, you need to follow the same steps also What is the exact voice command you're using to play the radio? and do you have the last Google home version?

I'm having the same problem.  It started this week.  my Google Nest Display stopped playing Irish radio stations.  It keeps saying this service is not availabe in your country.  Tune In is working fine on my phone and playing stations so it's not a Tune In issue.

I am also having the exact same issue with both of my Google home devices. I hadn't previously ever had to download the Tune in app but did this morning to see. It won't play any Irish stations off the app on my phone even. I have done all of the above stations, is there an alternative to Tune in? My mother uses the radio ever day, this is a real inconvenience.

I have same issue, I'm in Ireland - my google nest stopped playing Irish and Polish radio stations with msg from Tune In "this radio station is not available in your country" there was no change to my settings etc.

I reset the Google Nest and issue is still not fixed

I am having the same issues as well will play UK stations but will not play Irish stations

Same issue in The Netherlands. Weird detail.. i have 3 Google Nest devices in my house. The ones installed in the bedroom and living room respond without issues to playing Dutch radio stations in TuneIn, but the device in the office says " this station is not available in your country". Same network, same type of device... Tried many steps optioned above, no result.

I'm in Canada and the same thing started tonight. I tried 3 different local radio stations and I keep getting the same message that this station isn't available in your country. Everything worked fine about 5 hours ago!

Hi all, has anyone resolved the issue?

This morning my google nest hub max will not play irish radio stations, I get the same "this station is not available in your country" 

All my other google devices seem to work as normal, my 3 nest minis and nest hub all work fine it's just the nest hub max where I see the issue. 

I have never installed any additional apps the tune In service always worked when prompted.

Mine started working again last Fri.  I put it on agaun this morning and the same problem! I reported to TuneIn as well.  Still no response.
