Google can't tell time or the weather

I have 4 Google Nest Mini speakers in my house and recently all 4 of them lost the ability to tell me the time of day or the weather. They all used to function normally until 27th Aug 2022. I'm guessing an update was pushed out and broke the functionality to my devices?

 

 

 

When I say the command "What time is it", it now replies "According to Wikipedia, Time is the continued sequence of existence and events that occurs in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, into the future."

When I say the command "What's the weather", it now replies "Sorry, I don't understand".

Hey Pkhinda,

 

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's see what's going on.

 

Is it only happening when asking for the time and weather? Could you try reinstalling your Google and Google Home app? Also, resetting your Google Nest Mini speakers might help too.

Hey yes I have tried restarting and still no luck.

Every thing else work fine just the issue with weather and time ..

Thanks for trying the steps. Can you please provide the cast firmware version of your Google Nest Mini?

 

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.
