Google home app problem connecting to cloud

Been a long time user of the Google home app to automate & connect my smart home.

I have 2 nest mini's & 1 hub and a Chromecast for Google TV with some additional smart devices (lights, thermostat, etc..). Due to some connectivity issues when streaming music, i had to reset my speakers which gave me the error "problem connecting to cloud" when trying to reconnect them again. 

I did the default have you tried turning it off & on again approach and shut down my modem. 
After this didn't work i decided to re-install my home however now i'm getting the error "problem connecting to cloud" as from my initial step in the startup process. 

This means I am unable to access the google home app (ios latest version) and am no longer able to use any of my google home devices.. 

Didn't find any solutions online except for giving it a few days hoping the connection reboots.

Any ideas?

I understand that app issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help. 

 

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Hi there Garrett,

thx for reaching out. Unfortunatly the problem is still there. 
As for troubleshooting, i've tried the following: Reset the home app configuration, removed & redownloaded the app, updated & rebooted my mobile device, rebooted internet connection,... all without success. 

I've also tested the setup by creating a new gmail account and for this account everything is working smoothly. Therefor i'm pretty sure the error is linked to my account and is not device/hardware related. 

i'd rather avoid having to use the new account as the solution for my problem as my "bugged" account is the one i use for several other services that are relevant for my google home application.

Thank you for your patience on this, I understand this is a frustrating situation and I want to help to provide some clarification on this. 

 

I was able to dig further down into this and it does appear that there is an overall bug with the Google Home app connecting to the Cloud. Our engineering team is aware of this and they are working on this for us as well. I appreciate your patience with this.

Hi Garrett, 

thx for reaching out. I do follow up on responses however the issue is still there & I haven't been helped so far. My account is still bugged making me unable to use any google home app related service..

I’ve been having the same problem for weeks. Is there really someone working on this? Seems like no…

I have not been able to connect to google wifi in 2 weeks now , and had to buy a new mesh system . I have to have it for work, and my office is in another building so I bought Deco 9m and they seem to work great but I’m stuck with 4 google WiFi’s now .. 

I’m not a tech savvy person. Is there even a way to talk to a person to trouble shoot or we just have to figure out stuff on our own?

Same divices as you and today I have the same problem. I understood that engineer knows the problem.

Also having the same problem. I’ve reset the google WiFi devices multiple times, and even tried to creat an entirely new network. I can get 2 of my devices to connect but the last always fails with the error message, “problem connecting to cloud“. 

We need a fix for this ASAP

Has anyone had any luck yet .. I have drive myself crazy trying to set up my other points . Can only set up the main one , can’t set up the other 2
