Google home doesn't show the colour option for my Mirabella genio RGB LED strip

MSPARK

Hi all

Hoping someone here knows what's wrong and how to fix the issue of Google home not recognising the RGB colour control option of my Mirabella genio RGB LED strip.

It has been working for the past 2 years and has recently started to only be able to change the brightness of the LED when it's on white mode has has stopped recognising the colour capability of the light and I don't know why.

And yes I have made sure the RGB function does work through the app and that all apps and the LED strip is all fully updated.

Hey MSPARK,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

I know the feeling when you're having issues controlling your lights on the Google Home app. A few questions: What specific Google Home/Nest device do you have? Are you able to change the colors of your lights via voice command? What is the make and model of your phone/tablet? Have you tried using a different phone/tablet to access the Google Home app? Also, do you have other home automation lights that have the same issue?

I do suggest to call Mirabella Genio support to check with them if they have updated their system that might have caused this issue or if they are getting similar reports.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi

Same happening to me. My Genio lights this past 2 years all good being controlled by Google Home but this past few weeks not able to control colour setting of Genio Mirabella via Google Home, I can now only control the lights colour via the Genio app, think it’s since an app upgrade to the Genio app.

Hi folks,

@MSPARK, have you tried contacting Mirabella Genio as Muddi has stated? What information have you gathered?

@jonathan1111, it's like you said it may have been due to the upgrade to the Genio app but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's the only reason. If you could, try to follow the steps on this link. Follow the instructions on how to unlink and relink devices from the home app.

Note: the partner themselves manages the URL portal used to link partners in the Google Home app. Issues encountered when linking a partner (home control) should be directed to that home automation partner for support. Partners are expected to support the integration of their products with Google Nest and Home devices.

Best regards,

Dan

Hi Princess.
I’ve actually made contact with local Australian Genio support team. I’ll keep you updated with what they come back with.

Hi jonathan1111,

Thanks for the update. We'll keep this thread open for few more days and we'll wait for some news.

Best,

Princess

So while waiting for Genio support to come back to me, I deleted all the Genio lights from Genio app, then re-added them, then added them into a room in Google Home and then I was able to see all 3 display lines in Google Home Screen (a display line named ‘Brightness’, a display line named ‘Colour’ and a display line named ‘4 lights’ (as against only seeing display lines ‘Brightness’ and ‘4 lights’ when I reported the issue. So now with 3 display lines, I’m now able to ask Google to ‘change kitchen lights to blue (for example), whereas previously Google replied not able to perform function. So all is good now, deleting all the lights from Genio and Google Home and re-adding them to both Genio apps and Google Home fixed the issue. Thanks to all.  Jono 🤩
