Hello, please help, I recently bought another Google home mini, but I can't set it up as I recently got a new phone and it happens to be a Google pixel. It is insane that I can't set up one Google device with another Google device there has to be another way. I tried my tablet but the Google home app is not compatible with my tablet so I am stuck with an expensive Google home mini that I can't set up because I have a Google phone. Please help I've been trying for 3 weeks and I'm ready to take all of my Google devices and throw them in the trash I'm so frustrated. Please please help

If you live in the US and only have a Pixel phone, currently you would need to borrow a non-Pixel phone or tablet from a friend or family member if that's possible in order to be able to do the setup.

Everyone I know has either a pixel or an iPhone. Am I just our of luck and robbed of my $$? You really need to warn people before we buy.

If a friend/family member is kind enough to lend you their iPhone, that should work for setup.
Alternatively, you can contact the Google Nest support team. They will work with you to find a solution.

This is too much BS for me. Alexa is my new best friend. So stupid....

Setup up the mini with your Pixel, just turn of the wifi on the pixel and use cellular. Then in the GH app when the mini setup gets to the wifi section just pick your wifi and off you go. Once setup turn wifi on the Pixel.

Thank you, but unfortunately that's not working either, the first step is it takes me to the Google home app and then tells me I can't do it with the pixel. Thank you for the advice I guess the moral is don't buy Google products 😞
