I see a few people have had issues with Google Homes not completing setup following a factory reset. I had this and the error message was that my phone (which runs Google Home) and the speaker were on different networks.
I tried many things. In the end unplugging my second Google WiFi unit, factory resetting the speaker and running the setup again worked.
Seems Google WiFi's supposedly meshed network isn't as seamless as it should be.
