After a storm and a brief 15 to 30 second power outage, I'm going into day 3 hearing my 2 Google minis respond: .. "Something is wrong try again in a few seconds." Unplugged and rebooted after 5 minutes but the same thing happens.
Any suggestions?

I appreciate all the details you provided. Since rebooting is already done, have you already tried rebooting your router by unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes? Let's go ahead and try that before we perform a full reset on your Google Home Mini and set it up again.
Lastly, let's make sure that your Google Home Mini is withing range from the router to get a good WiFi connection.
