Google nest display stuck in a bootlooop

My google nest display gen 1  is stuck in a bootloop.

This only happened a few days ago after my teenager removed it from our home wifi so we could add it to their own wifi and now it's stuck in a bootloop and there is ZERO HELP and ZERO CONTACT FOR HELP!

It did some sort of update when it was liked to the new wifi and has not worked since then.

I tried the reset device, it works until it finishes installing and then it does another update and gets stuck into a  bootloop once again!

Extremely disappointed!

It's also apparently out of warranty

Can definitely appreciate how frustrating this will be. Try these steps which may help:

  1. Unplug your device then hold down the volume button while plugging it back in.
  2. Release the volume button once the device turns back on.
  3. Once the device boots into recovery mode, factory reset the device (hold down both the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time).

Thanks.  That got it 👍🏿

Seems I wasn't quite getting the volume buttons pressed properly 😂🤣

That's about 7hrs mucking around that I'll never get back.  How much extra would it have cost them to add a physical, dedicated reset 🤣

Would've definitely made things easier that's for sure. Glad it's sorted!
