Google nest hub, 2nd gen. Nest mini 2nd gen have stopped working

Both devices stopped working and I am unable to get them back online

Initially I would get, something went wrong, please try again later
Tried reboot - no change
Tried reboot of the home modem - both devices now not connecting to the network
All other Wi-fi devices have remained connected, including Pixel 8 phone
Factory rest nest mini, deleted nest mini from Home app
While trying to add nest mini back in the Home app on phone - I get asked to allow location access, location access is already allowed.
Tried turning off location access and turning back on again - no change
Restarted phone - no change
Any suggestions, help would be much appreciated. I can think of no reason why both devices stopped working?

I would factory reset the devices once again then try these steps:

Thanks David for your reply and advice. After much rebooting and hair pulling out, I have discovered that the home wi-fi 2.4 G is faulty. The 5 G is working, which threw me as all other devices just switched to the 5 G wi-fi automatically. Hopefully a new modem will resolve the issue.🤞
