I cannot respond to the previous version of this message but:
This problem has occurred suddenly and wasn't an issue previously.
None of my 2 nest minis or nest hub are playing media when requested anymore.
When I request the hub to play a specific song or artist on YouTube music it displays a google search. The nest minis will just come back as she doesn't understand.
I first noticed when I tried to run a routine. From my phone the routine works fine. If i start it from my hub it wont work. Even if i start the routine on the hub from my phone it wont work. This says to me its definitely the displays causing the issue.
The difference is that I am NOT getting the same issue on my phone. Also unlike the previous conversation this has been several days and it does not appear to be changing. It started on sept 13th.
I would have replied to the previous message but the issue went away for the people in that list and I think it got closed.

If you are using a language other than English, then you may be having the same problem described in this post. Google Nest has acknowledged the issue, then apparently fixed it, and then it apparently broke again.

I checked that as well after looking through the possible problems the other day - I am set to English, everything is.
the other suggestions were to update the firmware or reinstall it, which the nest told me were not options because "as long as I am connected to the internet I am up to date.

Perhaps its a glitch specific to YouTube. I tried playing a song and the Nest Hub played it using Pandora.

It could be, but in that case I think it wouldn't work on my phone, but it works through the google assistant there. It seems to be specific to the displays

I understand the feeling when you're having issues playing music on your Google Nest Hub and Mini. To confirm, are you having issues playing music directly from the Nest Hub and Mini? How about casting it from your phone to your speakers? Have you tried creating a new routine to check if you'll still have the same issue? What is the current firmware version of your Nest Hub and Mini?

It has been a few days and nothing has changed just to add that as a symptom - in the previous version of this, others had mentioned was fixed after 1 day
