I get this message every time I try to set my phone up with my nest hub. My partners phone can connect to it so it is not a problem with the wifi settings.

There must be some problem with my Samsung s20 phone. But I cannot figure it out. I have updated my phone and my home app, I have restarted my phone, I have deleted my VPN app, I have turned Bluetooth on and off, nothing has worked yet and I continue to get stuck on the same step. Any ideas?

Hey Aleshia92,

Thanks for reaching out — let's figure this out.

A few questions: are you using a private or public network? If private, do you have a dual-band router? Also, aside from your Samsung phone are you able to set it up using a different phone?

Give these steps a try:

  1. Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router and connected to the same network.
  2. Disable Auto network switch or Smart Network Switch on your phone.
  3. Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled).
  4. Uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app.
  5. Reboot your Google Nest Hub, phone and router to refresh the connection.
  6. Try resetting your Nest Hub.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Alex
