Hi, I recently got a Google nest mini but it keeps cutting out. If I'm going to bed and run through my night routine, it just stops. I've hard reseted it, restarted it, and unplug it for 24 hr. Any suggestions?

I cannot reply you as I'm in the same boat. Out Nest mini will cut out in mid-reply. We'll ask it for tomorrow's weather and its reply starts off normally but often will cut off suddenly near end of the phrase. Ex, instead of replying with "the temperature tomorrow will be 8 Degrees", it will say "temperature will be".

Sometimes have to ask the same question 2-3 times before getting a full proper reply. This never occured months ago when we first purchased it.

There's nothing that can be done at our end to resolve the ongoing problem with our Google devices intermittently cutting out in mid-sentence, not replying at all, or having to raise our voices in order for the "deaf" devices to hear us. The problem always has been at your (Google's) end. Probably software-related? Can you refund us our full purchase price? Judging by the number of written complaints here, I'm not alone in having these problems.

Hey virago83,

I am sorry for the late reply and for the frustration. I know having your device cut out mid sentence is not an ideal situation. I do appreciate the feedback, and would be more than happy to review the issue for you. Do you mind me asking what troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue? Please let me know, as I would be happy to take a closer look.

Best regards,

Jake

I believe I've replied to this in another post but I've done factory resets of our devices multiple times. Both Google devices are within 50-60 feet of the router and on the same floor which leads me to believe that this has nothing to do with wifi connection. I am using my laptop daily, much further away from the router than the Google devices, yet experience no wifi connectivity issues. I am of the impression that the problem may not be a physical hardware problem, within the device itself but more of a random intermittent drop in the connection between Google's virtual assistant and Google's servers, wherever they may be located.

I've been reading complaints from other similarly affected Google device owners on this forum and it is doubtful that we are all experiencing the same defective hardware problems, or that we are all dealing with faulty, in-home wifi issues. The common thread without these complaints is that the Google devices depend on the built-in virtual Google Assistant, which relays questions and requests to/from Google's servers. I've also noticed that our family has never had issues with our Google smart speakers communicating with the various smart plugs and lightbulbs within our home. If we give a command such as "Hey Google, turn off the bedroom lamp." It always completes the command and shuts off the light. In this scenario, there is no need for the virtual assistant to communicate with Google's servers looking for an appropriate response. Everything is done through the home wifi.

Five minutes later, I'll ask one of my Google smart speakers for a local weather report. It may or may not respond properly. I'll give the command; "Hey Google, give me the weather (local) for today". Most of the time it will respond with a proper answer. At other times, the virtual assistant appears to be confused with the command and waits for a response from Google's server, or it starts to reply, then cuts out mid-sentence, as if it's suddenly lost contact with the Google server. At other times, it lights up, as if the virtual assistant has recognized my voice, but then fails to respond at all. I then have to repeat the command a second or third time.

Is it possible that Google's servers are simply at times overloaded with attempting to respond to multiple (thousands) of smart devices and this causes a break in connection with the individual customer devices?
