Hi folks,

I'm happy to hear that some of the stations are now working. Let's keep monitoring it as the team is still investigating due to the fact that there are other stations that can't be played. I'll keep updating this thread as soon as I have additional information to share.

I marked my previous post as a "Solution" to pin my post on this thread so everyone can see it immediately without the need to scroll down  just  to see that our team is already investigating the issue.

Hey folks,

I'm checking in on this thread to see how many users are still having the same issue with TuneIn. Please do not forget to provide your location, radio station that you're having an issue with, and the type of Google Home/Nest device that you have. This information will be very helpful for the team to isolate the issue further.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hey folks,

We appreciate all your patience. No new updates for now. If you still have the same issue on your devices, please do not forget to send feedback using the keywords: "GHT3 Unable to play <name of station> in Tune In." Also, update this thread with your country and device.

Rest assured that our team is working vigorously on this issue. I'll update this thread again once I got more information to share.

@MarsHotel : Is it happening on a specific station only?

@skram : Thanks for the information. I already forward it to the team.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi everyone,

For those who are still experiencing the issue, please provide the following info:

  • What type of Google Nest speakers are affected by this?
  • What are the stations that are not working?
  • What stations are currently working?
  • Cast firmware version of your Google Nest speakers

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under "Technical information," find Cast firmware: X.XXX.XXXXX.

And I thought that this site was working on technical issues based around a "team" that this information is being forwarded to. But no, it appears to be that "hope" is the main direction of this group.

Why not pass around the wordsheet for Kumbaya?

I honestly think that we users will have more chance of resolving our issues by replacing our technology.

I've had it with this thread, it's utterly pointless and is directed at PR rather than solutions

Kumbaya and sayonara

Still hoping that you will find a fix

Hey folks,

Chiming in to ensure that everything was covered.

We have duplicated this thread to the main one here. You will receive all updates on this issue on the main thread and we recommend updating and checking this thread when needed.

Took delivery of a new Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) yesterday and TuneIn will not work.

"Hey Google - play TodayFM on tunein"

"Hey Google - play 2FM on tunein"

The response is "I looked for TodayFM on tunein but it either isn't available or cannot be played right now"

The same happens for any radio station. It will not play via TuneIn whatsoever.

I can play tunin on my phone and it will cast to the nest hub but that isn't good enough. I need nest hub to be able to play radio without having to cast. It's what I bought it for.

Very annoyed here 😠😠

Speaker still unable to play RTHK Radio 2 .  In fact, all 5 rthk radio stations are not playing.  Other stations work fine.
rthk stations plays fine on siri homepod and tunein app.  Therefore is a Google mini problem.

Google mini 2nd generation still cannot play RTHK Radio 2 or RTHK Radio 1.  The speaker replies it is going to play the station from Tunein.  However, it goes silent after playing the advertising.

All other smart speakers from other brands has no problem.  Therefore the problem is with google, not the radio station.

The problem has been persisted for more than 6 weeks.  Please resolve.

2nd Gen Mini.

The following stations not working.  All other radio station has no problem.

RTHK Radio 1

RTHK Radio 2

RTHK Radio 3

RTHK Radio 4

RTHK Radio 5

Other smart speakers (home pod, Alexa) at home plays these stations well so it is a problem with the mini, not the station.

Cast firmware: 1.56.309385

System firmware: 309385
