Google refuses to play VRT Radio 1 on Tunein

I've been listening to "VRT Radio 1 on Tunein" since many years. Suddenly, Google refuses to select this station and systematicly selects "VRT Radio 1 Classics on Tunein" instead, whithout me asking for 'classics'. I'm trying to find a way to make Google understand what I want.

Hi Jake

I found a solution myself, experimenting.

The solution is to ask the radio station, without mentioning the streaming service. So "VRT Radio 1" and not "VRT radio 1 on Tunein". The second part of the command causes Google to look for a specification of "VRT radio 1" and the only thing Google finds is "VRT radio 1 classics", with which it tunes to a station that I don't want. I’m not sure if my hypothesis is correct, but it helped me. And if it can also help others, I'd love to hear it.

Anyway, THX a lot, Jake and Ashepherdson

Could be an issue with the commands for TuneIn (I have a heck of a time with that service as well).  What I ended up doing was using the TuneIn app on my phone and casting it whenever I had an issue.

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that myself. But it would be nice if there was a way to correct spoken commands to Google, a keyboard is never far away.

The community mailer wants to know if I've got the answer I needed. First, THX Ashepherdson ! I really appreciate your response and was not expecting it. But the problem is not solved, sorry for that. Google adds data to my command, I can't correct anything, so we don't understand each other. I'm not the only one, for sure.

I tried your station and ran into the same issue with the Classics station playing.  If you only listen to one station, manually cast it once, then the next time you want to play it just say ok google turn on the radio and it should default to the last station, this worked for me.  Sadly even TuneIns own help page didnt offer any help (https://help.tunein.com/can-i-play-a-station-from-tunein-manually-from-my-google-home-app--r1lSgve1r)

THX a lot for your help, Ashepherdson !
