I really understand this confusion with your Google Speaker. Let me give you a hand with this; you can try checking these steps.
- Relink Spotify and Google Home:
- Open the Google Home app.
- Go to Settings > Music & Audio.
- Unlink Spotify.
- Relink your Spotify account.
Also, you can check if both the Google Home app and your Google Mini have the latest updates or perform a Factory reset on your Google Nest speaker.
