Google speakers continue to answer on wrong device- feedback has been ignored

Answering on wrong device is a known problem for almost 4 years.
I cancelled my YOU TUBE MUSIC subscription because the music would play on the wrong speaker in the other room.  If I ask the upstairs speaker (living room 2 speaker 2) to play music, esp sleep inducing melodies, I don't want that to play on the downstairs speaker.  Google continues to ignore this problem!

The only solution is to unplug the speaker that is in the other room so it does not answer or play music on the wrong device.

Yesterday, I disconnected/unplugged Google Display downstairs to prevent upstairs Google 2 Speaker 2 (with no display) from playing music or responding on the downstairs speaker.  I asked Speaker 2 a question and it said "here you go.." attempting to display something on the downstairs Display speaker which had been unplugged/power off! Tried it 2 more times with same "here you go" result.  :--((

Hi @ajwdct,

Thank you for your message. No worries, let's look into this issue to have the device you want respond. I would be more than happy to help.

Your best solution to this issue would be adjusting your "Hey Google" sensitivity so that all of your devices aren't responding at the same time. Here are the steps:

Set Google Assistant’s “Hey Google” sensitivity
IMPORTANT: When you adjust the “Hey Google” sensitivity for a device, it applies to anyone who uses that device.

Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Nest or Home device.

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap the device card of the preferred speaker or display.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings Audio “Hey Google” sensitivity.
  4. Use the slider to raise or lower the device's sensitivity to make it more or less responsive to "Hey Google".

With adjusting and customizing the sensitivity for each device, you can shape which device responds.

Please feel free to reach out with any other questions or concerns you may have.

Regards,

Josh
