Goolgle nest hub gen 2 not Announcing notifications out loud

Hello,

I need assistance with my Google Nest Hub 2nd generation. I'm having trouble getting it to announce notifications, like reminders, out loud. I've checked the settings but haven't been able to figure out how to enable this feature. Could you guide me through the steps to ensure notifications are announced audibly?

I also have been having this issue since the most recent Google Home Update last week. I have done any and all troubleshooting w/ no resolve. I also have a ticket open currently. I think it's update related since it started at the same time as you. Sorry you are also going through it.

Thanks for posting in the Community! Sorry to hear that your Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen is not announcing the notifications. No worries, help is here! Let’s try some troubleshooting steps that might help to fix the issue:

 

  1. At the back of the device, press and hold (long press) both volume buttons for about 10 seconds.
  2. To signal the start of the factory reset process, Google Assistant plays a sound.
