We have had a Nest Hub Max for several years and it has worked well until it didn't. I decided to go thru the setup process which now fails to complete. Any errors indicate that it's a WIFI problem but it isn't. For one thing I can adjust it's volume and I hear it beep and I can see it connecting in my WIFI log. What else can be done? I have reset the hub, messed with adding it a deleting it in the Home app, etc. Nothing works. Is it semi-bricked? What would cause that?

I changed my strategy and tried holding the volume up and down button while plugging it in. Sucess; no thanks to any instructions I found anywhere.
