I want my Google Speakers to remind me of upcoming events so I can set various reminders and tasks through the google calendar and have it remind me of them. This would be super helpful in organizing your day when working from home.

That's currently not an available feature, unfortunately. You could setup a routine that runs at set times that tells you about upcoming meetings perhaps?

Thanks a lot for the information. Does that mean it will be a feature in the future?
I always thought with Google you can expect such things to work out of the box. Unfortunately the Google Home Speakers seem like an unfinished product. It still has a lot of bugs and missing features you would expect to work. Sometimes you need several tries until it understands you. Stopping an alarm takes a lot of attempts and often I need to walk to the Speaker and touch it.
Some recommendations would be
1.) Better voice recognition
2.) Let Chromecast, cast it's audio to the speakers when watching movies.
3.) Control the volume of a speaker group.
4.) Calendar Integration
5.) Google Bard / GPT 4 integration.
I don't know if there's a place to add recommendations. I think it's an amazing product and I love to hear the same music in every room. I would be happy to see future development of this product.

No, Google haven't made any announcements about such a feature.
I’d encourage you to also send your feedback ideas directly to Google. You will not receive a response, unless Google need more details from you, however the team are still reading the feedback.
