Incorrect timezone on my Google Nest.

The timezone for my address is incorrect. It should be Australian Eastern Standard Time (EST) but it displays on my Google Nest as Australian Daylight Savings Time DST. This means all of our Nest and Chromecast times are incorrect which seriously limits their use.

It also makes the arrival time when using Google Honme/Maps incorrect.

I have also purchased Google security cameras, which means the times will be out on those with any recordings.

We live in Queensland (Australia) approximately 500 metres from the New South Wales border. NSW has DST, QLD does not, therefore we have a 1-hour difference.

I have done a Factory Reset but this didn't work.

Can someone please advise how to fix this issue?

Looks like this one is in the "too hard basket".

I posted this on Sunday and the only response is from someone who has the same problem.

Either Google doesn't know how to solve it, or doesn't care about the problem.

Hey PJR1801,

 

I wanted to check in with you, and see if I could be of any help. Your Google Nest devices will base the time in the location added in your Google Assistant settings. If you are showing the wrong time, I would recommend double-checking your home address. Here is an article on how to change/check that. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Jake,
I have checked my home address numerous times and it is correct.

A couple of days ago, while at a local shopping centre (Robina Town Shopping Centre) approx. 20 kms north of my home, I tested a few addresses in my suburb to see what time zone Google Maps has them in.
 
10 of these addresses showed as being in the NSW time zone. A further 4 which were a couple of kilometres further away were in the QLD time zone.
 
To perform this test, I entered each address into Google Maps on my smartphone and asked for directions.

Using Android Auto, when I navigate to my home even from a couple of suburbs away, my arrival time reflects NSW time. I have also checked this on Maps without Android Auto with the same result.
The display on my Nest gives NSW time, however, when I ask Google the time it gives me QLD time.
I have checked my internet wifi time and it is on QLD time.
A friend also checked from her place a couple of suburbs away and had the same issue regarding the time for my address.

Can someone please advise how to fix this issue?

Or better still, can I talk to someone from Google to fix it?
