When I tell the clock to play for an amount of time it tells me it will stop playing at the set time but it doesn't stop it just keeps playing is there any way I can get it to stop when I've ask it to?

What's the exact command you've used? When did it start happening? Make sure your Google Assistant app and Lenovo smart clock are updated. Try using the same command in the Google Assistant from your phone to see if you'll get the same result.
