Linking Hub to new Account

My Nest Hub was connected to a Google account that was deleted. The Home app was deleted and reinstalled, the hub factory reset and I am unable to remove the hub from the account. The Google account has been recovered but still unable to remove the hub and add to a different account. I cannot get into the settings at all. I get an error message "Problem Connecting to the Cloud"

Hi lm12,

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out. I just wanted to check, which part of the set up are you getting the error message?

Try to do these steps:

  1. Attempt to set up the Google Nest Hub Max again.
  2. If the same error message appears:
    • Force close the Google Home app, but don’t tap Exit setup.
    • Reopen the Google Home app > scroll down to the bottom of the Home page.
    • Check if your Google Nest Hub Max is listed under Other Cast Devices or Local Devices.
    • If found, choose the device, assign it to a room, and link it to the account.
  3. Unplug the device.
  4. Wait for at least 48 hours.
  5. Factory reset the device > attempt to set up the device again.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex

Hi there,

I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it?

Best,
Alex
