I have two Google nest minis included in different speaker groups. Neither will connect to any speaker group while playing music. Other Google devices will play from the speaker group without error, Chromecast and home hub. I can play music directly to the minis but they will not play from direction of speaker group. This worked fine until a week ago. Help!

Hey MissSara, first delete the speaker group, then rebooting your modem/router and phone. When it all comes back online, make sure everything is on the same wifi network, phone, speaker, etc. Then recreate the speaker group try playing some tunes. See if that helps; come on back if the problem persists.

I actually have already tried doing the full network reboot and rebuild. Same result.
These devices all work on the network independently, but the minis will not play in a group option.

Hi MissSara, the other options you might want to try would be to clear the cache in the Home app and for good measure, Google Play Services (avoid at all cost clearing data cache, that's a recipe for disaster), it works like a parking lot's painted lines. It controls a lot of functions in conjunction with the OS to reduce overworking of the operating system. If the suggested update theory is valid that might cure it -- but, I've also received all updates and have had no problem with my 5 groups.
Once the clearing caches are done, I'd totally shut the handheld down instead of a reboot, wait a few minutes, and then restart. You might also wish to retry removing and recreating the groups afterward as well.

Yeah, looks like Speaker Groups have been ruined with a recent update.
Tried all the generic corporate responses to this. This is a widespread issue created by a recent Google update. Speaker groups utilising a Chromecast with Google TV are now completely unusable.
