Music control

Hi

i have linked my apple subscription to my music in the home hub and I know I can ask the assistant to play my playlist and then skip songs using the home app but is there anyway to just pick a song on my phone and then it play on the speakers.

I dont always want to play music from a playlist and talking to the assistant every time I want to play a song is frustrating as she always gets it wrong.

I know with an Alexa you can play on the phone and it stream to the speakers why can’t I do this on google speakers?

thank you

You can do that if you pair your phone with your speaker using Bluetooth.

  1. Open the Home app and tap your speaker.
  2. Tap the settings cog top right > Audio > Paired Bluetooth devices > Enable pairing mode.
  3. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings and select your speaker.

Thank you that’s very helpful.  Can I then use my group speakers so it plays from all?

No unfortunately. Bluetooth can only be used with 1 speaker. Speaker groups require you to cast music or audio to them, they can't be used with Bluetooth.

Ok thanks and there isn’t any other way to stream to all speakers only Bluetooth ? Thank you

No unfortunately not, as your phone will only pair with one Bluetooth speaker at a time.
