From the examples I've seen of this, the fix is to unplug your device for several minutes. After those few minutes, it shouldn't reoccur when you reconnect the power.

Day number two of coming into my office with the Nest Hub Max displaying the spinning days. Yesterday was a power cycle. This morning was a factory reset.

The smaller versions (no camera) downstairs in the kitchen has not been impacted by this "glitch"

I have the same problem so I contacted Google's support chat and they gave an advice that almost worked. They guessed that the hub might have had an incomplete software update.

With two mobile phones, one as an access point and the other with the google home app, I reset the Nest Hub and reinstalled it again connected to the mobile phone access point and it worked immediately.

Then I used forget wifi to connect to my home wifi but then it got stuck with four rotating dots again. My wifi is obviously not working as Google wants it to do. It did work a few months ago so it is probably a software update in the Nest Hub that created this problem.

It seems as if it tries to connect to the 5GHz band but fails, Google support thought it might have to use the 2.4GHz band on my equipment, but alas, when I made a new network on the 2.4GHz band, it is still stuck even after a new facory reset. I have also tried a different router both at 2.4 and 5 GHz, with no avail. It only works with a phone as access point.

Hey all,

Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help? Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Best regards,
Jake

Hi!

I have got the hub working, at least intermittently, since I upgraded my internet connection, so it seems as if the hub is sensitive to the connection quality. I had a 4G router before, connected to APs, working at 20-40 Mbit/s, and now I got a fiber connection with 250 Mbit/s speed and a new corporate router and APs from Ubiquiti.

Best regards,
ChrispSweden

Hey ChrispSweden,

Glad to hear the device is working as intended! Congrats on the nice upgrade as well to the internet. With that being the case, and the issue being resolved, I am going to lock the thread at this time. If you run into any questions from here, please feel free to create a new post.

Best regards,

Jake
