My Nest Mini speaker doesn’t chime when the Series 2 Doorbell is pushed

I purchased the Nest Mini and pleased with the initial setup. However my understanding in buying it was that it would chime upon the new doorbell button was pushed. As we don’t have another door ring the new Doorbell Camera only makes an outdoor chime for the visitor. Needless to say we were expecting to have a louder audible chime as an alert of a visitor at the door.

You should get "visitor announcements" on your Nest Mini if you've turned on "Visitor announcements" on your doorbell and your doorbell and Nest Mini are in the same Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app:

I have a similar issue with Google Home not announcing. I've tried the Google suggestion to turn on visitor announcements, but nothing improves. What if this doesn't work for Harriflex16 either? What else can we try?

It should work unless you have "Do not disturb" enabled on your Nest Hub or Nest Mini.

Thanks. I spotted that Visitor Announcements weren’t enabled on the Doorbell Settings. Hopefully it will now work OK? I don’t think any of the instructions are very clearly written, it was a maze to try and purchase my own bundle, I even had to purchase a third party mains plug Adapter to power the Doorbell. Especially as I didn’t have my own wired Doorbell in the first place.

I discovered in the confusing instructions for Doorbell Settings that Visitor Announcements were not enabled. They do need to simplify all the Set-up instructions.
