I have read comments and am aware that Google are giving people in the USA a replacement speaker as there isn't an update. So I was confused to read Google are updating in the UK. I am severely disabled and depend on my speakers to assist me at home. I need a fast fix. I can't control my home if I'm in my bed which is where my illness has me most! Help please. I can't even get the factory reset to start.

Hi Janie495,

Let's try these steps:
  1. Unplug the power cord from your speaker, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and wait until all 4 LED lights on top illuminate.
  2. Repeat step 1 ten more times.
  3. After plugging your speaker back in the final time, you'll need to wait a few moments for the device to reset. It will announce "Welcome to Google Home. To get started, download the Google Home app on a phone or tablet" to let you know that it’s ready for setup.

I have done all of this several times hun. I did research before I posted lol. Its apparently a software issue, and can't be fixed, so I shall call Google and see what they are going to do about it. I already have Google home app as I have had the set up for a few years now. Thank you for you advice though, shame it didn't work.

@David_K got one step wrong

  1. Unplug the power cord from your speaker, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and wait until all 4 LED lights on top illuminate.
  2. Repeat step 1 ten more times.
  3. After plugging your speaker back in the final time, press the mute button on the back for at least 15 seconds and it will reset. It will announce "Welcome to Google Home. To get started, download the Google Home app on a phone or tablet" to let you know that it’s ready for setup.
