When my son asks his google nest hub to "set an alarm for 7 o'clock" the assistant replies that it does not know what to do with it. However on the screen you can see it understands him perfectly word for word. If he asks "how is the weather today" it response correctly. It also recognises that it is him (his icon in the right top)

Hi Tyfoon,
Thanks for posting. Let's sort this out.
A few questions — did the alarm work before? Can you try saying " Hey Google set an alarm " then followed by the time? Also, if that doesn't work try unlinking his account and link it back. You can check this link: https://bit.ly/3i8VywJ
Keep me posted.

Nikki

It worked before.
I will test your suggestion.
On the unlinking: Happy to try but you send me a link of unlinking from 3e party accounts. So not sure what you mean in this case with unlinking.

Hey Tyfoon,
Chiming in to ensure everything is covered here. Please try removing your son's account first from the Google Home app. It will unlink his account and will not be able to access your home. Once done, re-invite him back and see if he will still have the same issue. Visit this link or follow the steps below to know-how.

Let me know how it goes.

I was traveling but back now.
Muddi's steps done but this did not solve the issue. Still the same.
For context, my son:
Set alarm for 7:15 > Google understands and sees it's him but answers "Sorry I do not understand"
Turn off the light > Google understands and sees it's him > turns off the light
Me:
Set alarm for 7:15 > Google understands and sees it's me > set's the alarm
Turn off the light > Google understands and sees it's me > turns off the light
Next to this he CAN set an alarm on a Google home mini (and Google knows it's him)

Hi Tyfoon,
Thanks for the details you've shared.
It looks like the set up was messed up that's why it's having a hard time to communicate and respond to your commands. Let's go ahead and perform a complete reset to your speakers and let's establish linking the correct accounts to each speakers.
By linking other account, let's make sure that all accounts are linked or added to their preferred speakers.
Let me know how it goes.

Princess

I'm traveling a lot and I have 6 speakers of which 2 with screens. So it is not al small task (of which I also miss the logic while this would change things but I will try). Do they all need to be reset?

Hey Tyfoon,
We understand! You can reset one or two devices just to check if you'll get the same result after resetting it. We'll be waiting for your response.

Alex

I can also confirm that" hey google set an alarm" also does not work.
