Nest Hub Max and Xfinity Steam

Hello, anyone find a solution to casting from their Xfinity Steam app (on iOS) to their Google Nest Hub Max? 

I just bought a new Nest Hub Max.   The older smaller Nest Hub had no problem streaming from Xfinity to watch live local news, etc.  I bought the larger Max for the screen size, but Chromecast doesn't seem to work for Xfinity with this display. 

The Chromecast firmware for the Max is 1.67.330920.  For the smaller Hub, the one that works fine, it is 1.56.324896.

Other apps, such as HBOMax, DisneyPlus, NBCSports, Peacock and FoxSports, all work fine.  

I contacted Comcast/Xfinity.  They said the Hub Max isn't supported.  I find this odd since the Hub works fine, and other apps from the same company (Peacock, NBCSports) work fine.  

Wondering if this is a problem with the Google Chromecast software, or something Xfinity did or didn't do.

Please help.

If you are referring to the chromecast firmware version it is 1.69.362882

I do not see any form that you sent to me. Thanks

This is ridiculous. I’ve been following this chat for months because many people including myself are having the same issue. Continuously asking people to fill out a form doesn’t fix the problem. Google, we buy your devices because we want to use your product…. Fix it.

I have a feeling that the issue has more to do with Xfinity than it does with Google. Xfinity stream is the only video service that does not cast to my Nest Hub Max. And it does not cast from either the mobile app or the web version. It will cast though to other devices. I think Xfinity has to tweak its service to work with Nest Hub Max. But yes, Google should be coordinating with Xfinity on this issue.

hi, i have an update on my side. The 14 february 2023,  Google did a DRM Security update on the Nest Hub MAX, an update not compatible with Comcast application, thats why casting is not working...

@Jopas Thank you for identifying the cause of this issue. Did Google support provide that information? Any word on whether they are working on a fix?

Yes google support, no fixe date and i dont know if they are working on it, comcast and google has to fixe the issue together... 

Google support guys on this page should give us more info

Still not working for me.  Tried it again this weekend.  Other apps work fine, just not Xfinity.
