I have been using Sirius XM with my nest hub for years. All of a sudden it stopped working.
You can request to play something from Sirius XM, and the Hub obliges... "Streaming XXXX on Sirius XM..."
The screen then shows that the hub switches to Sirius XM but just before the player launches you can see (VERY briefly)an alert that reads:
"config-failed :0. Could not retrieve receiver configuration, please try again in a few minutes"
I have tried re-linking my Sirius account, unplugging the hub and even the entire wifi network. Nothing seems to fix it.
The hub functions properly on all other fronts (Spotify works etc)
Anyone have any advice here?
thanks

Hi everyone,
Thanks for reporting this to the community. The team is aware and is currently investigating this issue. To help the team further look into this, kindly turn on device usage data and crash reports. Reproduce the issue by asking your Google Nest speaker/display to play a station on SiriusXM, then give it a voice command to send feedback using the keywords “GHT3 Sirius XM stop streaming."
Please keep an eye on this thread for further updates. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience.
Warmly,
Alex

Thanks for the quick fix Google team!
12-15-2023 12:26 PM
Did you get a fix?
12-15-2023 12:28 PM
Yes, seems to be working now. Someone else posted it working as well. Try it out again.
12-15-2023 01:28 PM
Mine worked fine for a few minutes and then had the same behavior again.
12-15-2023 02:34 PM
Same, it worked for about an hour and a half and now it's doing the same thing as it did before. Assistive voice tells me it's going to play then nothing happens

Its working for me now. Dec 15th 5pm EST

Works but some channels plays one song then quiet. After awhile told google play Sirius channel....until 10pm. Nope Better but still needs a bit of work

This has been a known problem for many months now. If it's the same problem I've been encountering, it's the web-only channels (no channel number designation) that play one song then stop but the car radio channels (these do have a dedicated channel number) stream non-stop as expected.

It started to work for a little bit around 4:00 p.m. Eastern December 15th but now it's 5:30 and it no longer activates. Same thing, assistant voice ice says playing SiriusXM and then silence

Check this thread:
It describes the problem and temporary workaround.

As of 10am in 12/16/23 the command gets siriusxm to play however it does stop playing randomly after about 30-40 mins. I would suggest what dale mentioned as well in terms of sending that feedback code through the smart speaker. But it works somewhat, just doesn't stay playing as it used to

I've been experiencing the same problem for a week. Google please fix this!

Muddi - Is there ANY update on this? I am still not working......
01-05-2024 02:05 PM
Still doing the same thing no update
01-07-2024 10:25 AM
Still having the same issue. Video suggestions show up and music stops.
02-11-2024 08:08 AM
Issue is still ongoing as can be seen by the plethora of responses. Is a fix on the horixon?
02-11-2024 08:23 AM
Not only silence from the speaker, but silence from Google and SiriusXM. When you combine that failure from SXM with their newly announced hard-line approach to renewals, it’s a gloomy aspect for the company.
12-22-2023 11:58 AM
I am still having the same problem. Google please fix this
12-23-2023 01:29 PM
I did the send feedback GHT3 sirius XM stop streaming command and now I can't even stream from my phone. GOOGLE PLEASE HELP!
12-22-2023 02:58 PM
Does Google support staff read these posts and therefore aware of the issue ? Anybody know ?
12-24-2023 06:36 PM
Wasn't working at all about a week ago, and after about two days it started magically working again (I'm guessing Google pushed out a fix) but now the streaming cuts out randomly, sometimes as quickly as only a couple seconds after starting. I will tell my smart speaker to stream a SiriusXM channel, it acknowledges and begins the stream, and then about halfway through the song the streams ends abruptly. It does this repeatedly every time I restart the stream. Very frustrating.

This is exactly the problem I am having with my three Google Nest devices. SiriusXM folks sent me back to Google Nest as where the problem is. They suggest a recent update by Google might be the culprit? SiriusXM work perfectly in my Google equipped Volvo. Is there any rational response from Google? Seems not.

Having recently addressed an authentication issue that developed with the release at SXM of a new interface (see: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Speakers-and-Displays/Nest-Hub-and-Sirius-XM-not-working-Conf... a new anomalous behavior. Requesting SXM results as expected but only briefly at which point the playback stops and I'm offered a choice of Sirius video channels.
@NestHub2023 and @Alex_S were instrumentalin success with the original issue.
12-16-2023 06:42 AM
I am experiencing the same issue- it stops playing during the first song.

So, I have a First Gen Nest Hub and multiple Nest speakers. Since last week I have not been able to use my Nest Hub with Sirius XM. But, I can with my Nest Speakers. I use the same command to both. Hey..., play xxxx on Sirius XM. If I do this with the Nest Hub, it plays for 30 seconds to a minute and then drops to just the Sirius XM screen. I can do this multiple times with the same result. If I do it to the Nest Speakers, it works normally. I have rebooted and reassociated Sirius with my devices. No change. I can connect to other media services without issues on either. So it is something with the Hub.
My Speakers are on the same subnet as the Hub. It is a Google fiber 500 MBit connection. Any suggestions or should I just wait for a Nest update?

This seems to be the most complete thread on this issue:
TL;DR - the dev team elves are aware. They're working on it as the behavior changes indicate. There's a workaround for now.

I have this issue as well, and apparently it is a long-standing problem. SiriusXM advises customers that it's a Google issue, so why is it taking so long to resolve, Google? Other channels do not do this. Google users are able to stream SiriusXM just fine on all other devices. It is clearly something on your side. PLEASE FIX THIS.. .I have reported it via the speaker also, as advised. This is the MAIN reason I recently bought 2 speakers. I have paired them for surround sound but can't play my desired music. 😞
01-01-2024 02:48 PM
I have it as well. Google Home speaker (the original looking tall one), will only play a SiriusXM channel for a few minutes/seconds and then it just cuts out. I only listen to 5 channels, and it's all of them. When it does play, it will cut out for about a half-second every 20-30 seconds while the song is playing. Then, it will just go dead.
01-02-2024 08:55 AM
I've been testing this for a couple of days. First, no issues at all on my Amazon Echo Show. I have Google Nest Audio device and have found that most of the music channels experience this cut out, but not other channels
CNN - plays fine
SPA - plays fine
60's, 70's, classic rock, tom petty and most other rock/music channels cut out after 5-15 seconds. Then it won't generally play anything else until I use the app on my phone to "stop casting". I have noticed on my phone's app I will still sometimes see the channel listed in the app when I look, but pause/play button does nothing.
01-03-2024 09:17 AM
Now XM radio craps out in less than 10 seconds, definitely won't be buying any more Google products if they can't even fix this streaming service that they say works with their products
01-03-2024 09:18 AM
This thread has been going on for about a month now- why can't Google and SiriusXM get it together?!? I'm continuing to report the problem to both daily- if we keep the pressure on maybe they'll get the message and act.
01-03-2024 11:28 AM
Every time it stops playing, I send feedback, maybe Google isn't bright enough to figure it out 😂🤣
01-04-2024 06:43 AM
Actually there are earlier threads, even back to April of last year and before. Google is supposed to be the premier expert on all-things-internet, devices, connections, etc. They have surely dropped the ball on this issue!! It's too late to return my speakers, so I've wasted money on something that should work - SiriusXM is all I listen to.
01-04-2024 06:24 AM
I have had similar issues since December. I assumed it was from an update to the application software. Now it plays but stops after a couple of songs. I restart the application when it stops, usually without an issue. Please send a fix soon!

I’m having the same issue and it started after the Sirius app updated on my iphone. If I give my Google Home the command “play ***** on SiriusXM,” Sirius will launch on the channel and start playing the music. However, after a few minutes the app quits. I did notice that the old version of Sirius (splash page) loads when I give the command to Google Home. On the other hand, if I launch the app from my iPhone and select Google Home to stream on, the new app launches on Google Home (new splash page appears), but it seems to be stuck on the Sirius splash page and music never plays. I’ve tried everything from re-linking Sirius to Google, restarting my router, and restarting Google Home - no luck.
