My Nest Hub keeps going to a black screen after rebooting it. I unplug and re-plug it in, and have factory rebooted twice but it just keeps happening. I've had it for over a year and this has only just started about a week ago.

Came here with the same issue - black screen after a power outage.   Unplugging it and replugging it into different outlets (all outlets working for other devices) numerous times and still nothing.  How can this many of us have the same problem?

I have had my new replacement for  a few weeks without issue so far. However the last time it was replaced it took 3 weeks to a month before it started and then got progressively got worse. If this continues to work after replacement for say a couple of months it would mean that I finally got a unit that was not a lemon.

It's now 2 more weeks later, no issue with my replacement RMA'd unit.

Also having the same problem, just get a black screen and no response the to hard reset. Any other ideas?

I'm also having the same blank screen issue randomly.

I have to unplug the power and replug to make it work, but then it comes back about twice per week for the past year or so.

Since I have had it replaced the unit still has not gone black on me. So far so good. Maybe this manufacturing run worked out?

Mine got killed too. I kept searching and searching and found this. Many people complain same things.. Poor Google Nest Hub.. it is already like M$ Black instead of Blue..

I am experiencing same problem. Tried all the troubleshooting suggested and still gray screen with google logo.

I can't get any of these tips or tricks to work on my hub. It's still showing a black screen with feint red/grey stripes.   I've had it about 18 months, does anyone know their lifespan please?

My google Nest Hub is experiencing the same issue with a black screen without even starting. I have tried all the possible resets and troubleshooting instructions from the google site.  My gadget is out of warranty now. so no luck, have an Amazon dot right next to it which was bought way before and still working. I need to switch to echo show. Even though their update killed my device, no responsibility is being taken. When Google will act on this issue?

My Nest Hub display Broken

Hey lbalakumar,

Sorry to hear about your Google Nest Hub. Let's dig deeper: when did the issue start? Is the Nest Hub plugged directly into a wall outlet or surge protector? When the display is plugged into the wall outlet, does it show any LED lights that indicate that it has power? Are other devices able to receive power from the same outlet? Is the official power adapter that came with the speaker or display used on the device? Have you tried a different outlet? Was there any type of electrical outage around the time the issue began? What country are you located in? Also, when and where did you purchase your device?

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi

My device has now been fine since it was replaced. Be here are my answers when I did have the problem.

When did the issue start?  1-2 months after using

Is the Nest Hub plugged directly into a wall outlet or surge protector?

Directly

When the display is plugged into the wall outlet, does it show any LED lights that indicate that it has power? I do not believe there are LED lights on the front, but it did have power because it continued to play audio when the screen went black..

Are other devices able to receive power from the same outlet? Yes, without any issue whatsoever. The old smaller Google home screen worked fine on the same outlet without any issue.

Is the official power adapter that came with the speaker or display used on the device? Official

Have you tried a different outlet? Was there any type of electrical outage around the time the issue began? No electrical issue

What country are you located in? USA

Also, when and where did you purchase your device?
