Nest Hub display language randomly changing

Nest Hub 2nd gen language

My Nest Hub has started randomly changing its display language to Spanish. Or Portuguese - I can't tell. I never use the voice features but I do use the touch screen sometimes. Or, I did use it sometimes. I don't understand Spanish. Or Portuguese.

And if I reboot the thing, it's back in English.

I can't find a setting for language.

Ideas please... thanks

Hi Clzeni,

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s further look into it. Is there a secondary language set on Google Assistant? Kindly check what the system firmware version of your Google Nest Hub is.

Regards,
Alex

System firmware version: 14.20230831.4.72

Cast firmware: 3.71.387262

No secondary language set. I don't use Google Assistant, only touchscreen. I can reboot the unit via the Home app and English  returns. But the other language comes back within a hour or so.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen device’s firmware is up-to-date. Strange why the language keeps changing. Try to perform a factory reset and set it up again. Then, monitor its behavior.

Best,
Alex

After your first message asking about secondary language I decided to check. Sure enough Spanish was set. I didn't set it; nobody in this house speaks Spanish. In any case I deleted the secondary language; the display immediately flipped to English and has remained that way.

I am grateful for your assistance here. Thanks!
