I've had 2FA on my account for many years, but I just recently added a hardware key and upgraded to "Advanced Protection". After doing this, all my Nest hubs show "Link account: Open the Google Home app and link your account". However, the Google Home app believes my account is still linked. I've tried all the recommendations already posted for this issue, including factory resetting the Nest hub, and reinstalling the Google Home app.
I have not tried removing myself from the household, since there are many third-party integrations linked through my account.
Any other ideas?

Hey cwh02139,
Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. Please note that accounts enrolled with "Advanced Protection Program" are not compatible with any Google Home/Nest devices because it have extra layers of security and avoid your Nest Hub to access the information on your account. You might want to use a different account to be able to use your device properly, or let one of the home members link those third-party apps on the Google Home app.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Muddi

Hi Muddi,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Unfortunately, before I read your reply, I tried removing myself from the Google Home. This caused all my Nest devices (thermostats, smoke detectors, doorbells, and cameras) to vanish. Is there any way to recover those devices?
I have removed APP from my gmail account.
Thanks,
Carl

Hey cwh02139,
What is the model number of your Nest thermostat? Have you checked if you're on the right home structure? Please note that smoke detectors are only visible in Nest app and not on Google Home app.
Cheers,
Muddi
