2 days ago, when asking for a specific song, my Google Nest has started saying "it either isn't available or can't be played right now" when it was available last week.

Don't know how to help but we've been having the same issues for about a week now. Only very general audio requests play, we can't even play our own YouTube music playlists by asking for them, it just gives that same standard reply.

Same problem here
Really considering Alexa

I requested a callback from The Google Nest Customer Care Team and, to be fair, they called almost immediately, but, it's the usual support line procedure i.e. "Have you tried switching if off and on", "Have you tried resetting the device" "Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the app", in the end I was asked to send a short video of the issue and was givena reference number, so I can only suggest if everyone with this issue contacts the The Google Nest Customer Care Team and it will force their hand to take this seriously.
I've cancelled my YouTube Premium account, if they resolve the issue by 20th March I shall re-instate, if not then I'm off to another smart speaker/popular music service 😛
P.S. A bit frustrating that I'll be out of pocket for the Nest though.

facing same issues

I just signed up for the premium trial today and am immediately facing the same issue. Not exactly the best experience or compelling me to start paying for it when the trial ends.

We are having the same issue. Probably started around March 9th or so. Not cool.

Same exact issue ... if your having the same issue .. be sure to give every post in this thread Kudo's to try to bump this thread to "trending" ... this is a major Pain in the Neck.
I looked for X on youtube music but it either isn't available or can't be played right now .. Hate this ..

Give every post Kudos to get it trending. 👍

Yup, same issue here, I'm a YouTube Premium subscriber and yet my speakers cannot find anything if I ask it. If my sister asks it (or indeed anyone else in my family group) the speaker finds it straight away.
That goes for my Google Home, and my Google Nest Mini. However, my Home Hub 2 is completely unaffected by this issue and works flawlessly.

Everyone report to The Google Nest Customer Care Team and request a call back and they'll issue you a Case ID number, the more people call/message them then the more they're gonna have to look at it.

Wife was looking into it. Apparently Google settled a lawsuit, not sure exactly about what, and removed some things and have had a few problems crop up from it. This being one of the issues people have been facing.

Have 5 Google minis with the same issue started around 4 or 5 days ago. Hope they find a workaround soon.

This problem started for me about a week ago. I can ask for music or artist, but choosing a specific song always fails. Same for me and my wife.

Same exact problem on multiple devices. Super frustrating, hope Google will address soon

It started working for me this morning, I'm using Google Nest Audio devices.
03-15-2022 06:08 AM
Thanks Martyn, I just tried mine and it's also started working again!
03-21-2022 08:38 PM
it started again for me, are you facing it again?
03-22-2022 02:35 AM
Mine is still working correctly as of right now, hasn't failed once since it fixed itself last Tuesday.
03-24-2022 12:08 AM
Yup, it started again on Monday, 1 effing day after I had renewed my subscription 😠

Same issue! Just boosting this. Tried to restart it and nothing changed.
05-26-2022 11:48 AM
I'm not completely sure my issue was the same, but I just solved this for myself. My default music service inexplicably changed itself to pandora instead of YTM. I asked "hey google what's my default music service" and it sent me a link on my mobile to change it over. Now it works fine. Apparently you can do the same in the Home app, you click Media then Music.
